In December 2024, we completed an important step: union discussions and the official signing that allowed us to access Fondimpresa funds to launch a major training project. This was an opportunity we did not want to miss: investing in the skills of our operators means investing in the future of our plants and MEHITS.
To understand where to really focus our energies, we held several discussion sessions with Plant Managers and Production Managers. This joint effort clearly identified two key areas for action: KPO and HSE.
This marked the start of a massive, structured, and above all shared process. With the fundamental support of the plant’s HSE and KPO colleagues, we launched training for all operators in all plants, without exception.
The first major milestone was Alpago, where we have already completed all the sessions. Training is still ongoing at the other plants, with one-and-a-half-hour meetings once a week (or every two weeks, depending on production requirements). This is a steady, sustainable pace that allows us to maintain high quality without impacting daily activities.
And it is precisely the quality of the content that makes this project special. We are talking about training that adds value to operational staff, bringing awareness, concrete tools, and a new vision of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
The numbers speak for themselves:
- over 700 operators will be involved in total across the four plants;
- more than 300 people trained to date;
- 750 hours of training already delivered.
A project that is growing and bringing real value. Not just skills, but culture: the culture of a company that invests in people, safety, and continuous improvement.
And we’re not done yet.
In fact, we’re just getting started!
