We interviewed Roberto Bova, Material Planner – M21, who has been with MEHITS for 20 years.

- What was the most memorable company party you ever attended?
It’s not easy to choose one in particular after so many years with the company, so I’ll mention two. The first was for the 50th anniversary of the RC Group, now Plant M21, where I started—a fond memory. The second was the most recent one here at Mehits, where I had the pleasure of celebrating my 20 years of service.
- Have you ever thought about writing a book about your work adventures? If so, what would you call it?
I never thought about writing one, but I have an anecdote on this subject.
A colleague of mine (who is still with the company, so if he reads this interview he will recognize himself) when we worked together in warehouse M21, came up with a somewhat playful and amusing title that might sound narcissistic, but I assure you that was not the intention. It was really just to emphasize the admiration and the great atmosphere among us colleagues in the warehouse: it was “Roberto Bova, a cut above the rest” or something like that.
However, based on my work experience in warehousing, production, spare parts, and now logistics, a fitting title might be “Survival Guide for Materials Management,” a collection of experiences and tricks of the trade in materials management as seen from different roles and perspectives.
- Was there an event or person that contributed to changing the way you work?
I can’t think of any one person in particular, or rather, I have learned something from all of my colleagues with whom I have worked and continue to work. My belief is that there is always something to learn and ways to improve. That said, I hope that I have passed on something positive over the years to the people with whom I have worked and collaborated.
As for something that changed the way I work or my perception, it was definitely my change of role in the company a few years ago: after 15 years working in the warehouse, I joined the logistics department, where some preconceptions were dismantled and my perspective changed. This suggests that we should always have an overview in order to collaborate better between departments.
