As is tradition, we recently had the pleasure of meeting to take stock of the company’s performance and future prospects.
MEHITS’ global business is experiencing steady growth and is establishing itself as a strategic pillar within Mitsubishi Electric’s AI30 plan. Applied Business is considered strategic, and MEHITS is called upon to demonstrate high professional skills to lead this sector. Significant efforts have been made over the past three years to strengthen internal capabilities, but major challenges remain in R&D, manufacturing, sales, service, and global KPIs.
To address these challenges, the company has embarked on a phase of heavy investment (approximately €100 million over two years) and workflow adjustments, with a focus on product development, key technologies, sales and service capabilities, and manufacturing flexibility. The Applied market is expected to grow at least until 2030, driven by trends such as data centers, electrification, energy saving, and heat reuse.
FY24 results were positive (+20% compared to the previous year), but with monthly fluctuations due to large international projects. MEHITS participated in prestigious projects in Europe, Asia, Africa, and America, consolidating its global presence.
At the same time, the company is continuing to improve productivity through initiatives such as Kaizen Week and is aiming for higher quality through multi-level activities. The culture of quality is central, with July 2 designated as “Company Quality Day.” An environment is promoted where everyone feels responsible and customer-oriented.
Safety remains a priority: “everyone must return home safe and sound every day.” Absenteeism is also stabilizing, and vacation planning is encouraged. Finally, the balance between flexible hours and overtime is carefully managed to cope with production peaks.
The fundamental principles remain unchanged: be reliable, professional, think about the customer, and always apply the 5S method:
- Seiri / Sort;
- Seiton / Set in order;
- Seiso / Shine;
- Seiketsu / Standardize;
- Shitsuke / Sustain.
These values are the basis for continuing to grow in a sustainable and solid manner.
