Dear Colleagues,
a particularly complex and intense fiscal year 2022-23 has just ended (some might say finally).
The acceleration and entropy emitted by the system in the post-pandemic period has pushed all organizations in our sector to deal with particularly relevant and problematic factors.
Let us give some examples:
- The difficulties in sourcing raw materials on time and useful for production in line with the demands of the domestic and international markets;
- Those related to the recruitment of qualified human resources in order to maintain and increase a satisfactory level of productivity;
- The need to launch and bring to market increasingly innovative products and solutions,
have led all Air Conditioning and ‘Applied companies to face their operational and structural limits and push the boundaries of their capabilities.
Having to respond to increasingly pressing customer needs with almost immediate reaction times and with the unknowns associated with component and personnel procurement has made it increasingly difficult over the past few years for multinational companies like ours to maintain if not even reinforce their leadership positions and market shares.
In this we have been good at not getting discouraged, at keeping our nerves strong by trying to respond blow by blow, order by order to what was and is being asked of us.
Today we can say that we are coming out on top.
The year ends on a positive note, with the achievement of the defined targets in terms of Turnover and Profitability.
Thanks to You, thanks to the creation of increasingly strong synergies with our with our partners, customers stakeholders, who made it possible. Thanks to our perseverance, dedication and resilience.
We should feel proud, of how we managed this last fiscal year.
Nothing is taken for granted, we earn everything in the field step by step.
It is a fact that we have long been on the right path to achieve the hoped-for and planned results, the ones in line with the group’s strategic plan, the ones that sometimes dispassionately throwing our hearts often over the hurdle, Ando san, our CEO, reminds us of during his motivational and refresher “speeches” at the different plants (we will have the next ones in June).
Is there still a long way to go?
Yes. We are not a perfect organization, we still have to work on many inefficiencies, muda would say our Japanese colleagues, that make the task today more arduous and difficult than it could be or seem, but we see light at the end of the tunnel.
The overtime incentives that have allowed for a recovery of workable hours in production, reduced absenteeism and increased productivity, in recent months, while giving rise to legitimate criticism, in its elitist choice of perimeter, have been decisive. Fundamental.
A new season of union negotiations for the renewal of integrative and PDRs (Performance Rewards) at the various sites is opening.
Sooner or later we will also eliminate the recurrence of the same mistakes, our BOMs or COs will become perfect, a word we must strive for but without stubbornly blaming ourselves, because it is in continuous improvement that the secret of our success lies.
The answer or recipe often remains the same: underlying the creation of the prerequisites for soundness and sustainability of a business reality like ours is the team.
Only the team, only by teaming up i.e. by uniting forces and skills in a supportive and positive logic can we build the prerequisites for success today and tomorrow.
Only by valuing our diversity, only by remaining flexible and optimistic can we continue to succeed and sow smiles that are sustainable over time.
The choice of “Positive feedback today to break down a negative criticism of yesterday” is a mantra we will have to implement as soon as possible; the lifeblood of a system that is obliged to feed itself over time that risks, in times of high stress if not adequately supported, to fall into autarkic criticism and a cycle of toxicity.
Let us not forget that our microcosm is also and above all made up of emotional states, not just procedures, processes and numbers to be achieved.
The ataraxia and apathy of those in an organization whether manager employee or operator are as dangerous as if not more so than a failure to supply compressors or expanding screws.
That is where the initiatives and stimuli that we as the HR function try to inject into the organizational apparatus and dynamic organism of the corporate planet fit in.
This year we have consolidated the ‘structural use of smart working in a logic of correlation to the role and responsibilities held by each person.
We have just launched the Stimulus initiative” to get closer to people’s needs from an emotional and psychological point of view as well.
We instituted corporate loyalty awards (Fidelity Awards) with 60 people honored and CEO Awards for the most outstanding projects completed in the previous year (122 involved).
We consolidated the services and use of the Welfare Mehits plus platform with afferent services and conventions.
We launched new training courses suitable for the competitive retraining of our resources at all levels. Strengthened those in the areas of safety and environment, something we particularly care about.
1,253 participations, 19,665 hours of training.
We managed to meet with many students at universities, campuses and high schools, to establish a study run in memory of our colleague Margherita Novello at ll University of Padua.
To activate several initiatives with charitable and social purpose. To make several important donations, in line with our corporate values.
We continued to invest in the ‘induction of new resources for the strengthening of the structure
88 new white collars, 232 new operators, 7 internships, 6 rented apartments for out-of-region staff.
We have resumed traveling, 1417 reservations between hotels, restaurants and trips, I hope you have been able to do so in your personal lives as well.
We finish a year perhaps tired, overwrought, but also ready to seize the new opportunities that the new is offering us I wish you to undertake it with the right level of enthusiasm thinking that something will come this time too to surprise and excite us.
