Emergencies Psychology: Advices from Luca Garziano

Recently, we had the honor of hosting civil defense expert Luca Davide Garziano in M12, who shared valuable tips on how to deal with critical situations with our emergency workers. Emergency psychology is a key aspect of ensuring an effective and timely response, and Garziano stressed the importance of following some basic rules.

In an emergency, it is essential to have simple and immediate rules. Garziano explained that knowing how to relate to the emergency responder is crucial: listening carefully and following his or her directions can make all the difference. Clear communication and mutual trust are key elements in how best to handle the situation.

Another key aspect is managing emotions. During an emergency, keeping calm and controlling one’s emotional reactions is vital. Garziano provided our staff members with practical techniques for staying clear-headed and focused, even under pressure. These tools not only help make quick and accurate decisions, but also help reassure and support those involved.

The meeting with Luca Davide Garziano was extremely helpful for our emergency workers, who are now better prepared to deal with critical situations competently and safely. Emergency psychology is an ever-evolving field, and we are grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from an expert in the field
