Guido Daccò, Deputy PD Manager T. & S. Supervisor

Let’s meet Guido, in his new role as Deputy PD Manager Thermodynamic & Software Supervisor!

Hi Guido, how do you combine software development with DX product development?

It’s not easy, especially since they are not the only things I do. All in all, the two activities are not unrelated, in fact I could say complementary. So I carry them on a bit in parallel.
What helps me the most is the long experience I have gained in the company in different roles, which allows me to get in tune with co-workers, also from other organisations, and together find the quickest and most effective solution. Working in a team is sometimes complicated, but if you find your way with humility, you get the best results.

What can you tell us about the new set-up of your office?

This is a very important change, both personally and for the reorganisation of the whole office. Like all changes, it has positive and negative aspects.
It is difficult to judge objectively when you are personally involved. Certainly in the first few months it involved some disorientation and confusion, but it was inevitable, references change and the organisation of daily work changes, albeit gradually.
Over many years I have experienced many changes in the company, of all kinds, and this does not frighten me, you have to endure and overcome the negative things without preconceptions, and value and exploit the new challenges and opportunities. It takes time, although time is a resource that is increasingly in short supply, alright! Then we will be patient!
We will take the time and strength we need to improve or change the things that are not working.

What is a Strategic Industrial Plan?

Good question, we often hear about it in the various media, news, internet newspapers etc., but in detail what is meant by it?
Personally, I have my own idea, but I have never delved very deeply into it.
So I did some thinking, even before I documented myself and delved deeper.
A business plan refers to a series of actions, which a company plans, to be carried out over a defined period of time, usually medium to long, with the intention of achieving certain set targets. For the duration of the plan, there are periodic checks and possible modifications.
The objectives are not always necessarily purely economic and profit-making. For example: for a heavily loss-making company, having a balanced budget as a goal of the business plan is already a good starting point.
As for the series of actions, these can be of various types and linked to each other. Some examples are economic investments in production machinery, new product development, research, expansion of the sales network, advertising. Or in personnel, staff increases or cuts (we always hope not), but also reorganisation of the organisational chart and internal flows.
These are just examples, in reality things are more complex and articulated, it depends a lot on the size and characteristics of the companies.
Have I got it right? I think in principle yes.
