It has already been 20 years since, back in 2004, our subsidiary in China was opened: Climaveneta Chat Union (CCU) with the aim to serve the large local market on time. So we asked a few questions to our colleagues Eros Caneschi, Chiara Pagotto, and Alessio De Battista to summarize the history of CCU, highlight the main steps of a steady and significant growth, and share future plans.

What have been the main growth steps in these 20 years of CCU?

In the early years CCU’s growth was mainly supported by chiller units sold in the domestic market especially Screw Water Source Heat Pumps, for which CCU had a significant market share. Then with the arrival of mainly local competitors, we chose to expand our offering to HPAC, AHU and Fan Coils units, and broaden our sales markets to Southeast Asia. Today, thanks to the success of the PCCS solution, Phase Change Cooling System, an ultra-high efficiency system for IT Cooling applications, we are experiencing a phase with significant growth in revenues and consequently Profits well exceeding RMB 1 billion in revenues (RMB 1Mld = 130M Euro)

What are the strengths of our organization?

Definitely a well-developed R&D and equipped with a state-of-the-art Testing room, but above all a sales team well distributed throughout China and established for years, considering that many of the area sales directors are the same since the beginning of CCU’s adventure 20 years ago. It is also worth mentioning an adequate marketing service to support strategies due to market needs, and last but not least, an adequate management team and financial management and risk control procedures apt to ensure CCU’s constant development.

What are the plans for the coming years?

In addition to the development of new products from VSD Conversion of Screw and Scroll units, to water and high temperature heat pumps for process, via the development and promotion of the PCCS System mentioned earlier. Another significant project, currently underway, concerns the opening of a manufacturing plant in Vietnam, which is expected to be ready and begin operation next April with two production lines, AHU and FCU, to be joined in June by a third line dedicated to HPAC units. With that factory and with the specially established organization, CCUVN (Climaveneta Chat Union Refrigeration Equipment Vietnam Co. Ltd), we aim to increase sales both in Vietnam and in all other Southeast Asian countries, thus coming to cover a geographical area of c.ca. 700M inhabitants with significant prospects for economic growth.

Are there any specific celebrations planned to mark 20 years in business?

On January 18, on the occasion of Chinese New Year, we held a company dinner with more than 500 employees. In a festive and informal atmosphere, thanks in part to the singing and dancing performances organized by the various departments, we also held awards ceremonies for employees with 20 years of corporate seniority, i.e., those who have really made CCU’s history, which turned out to be quite a number.… take a look at the pictures!
