Message from F. Marella, Head of ESH

The only way to continue to grow and be a successful company is to treat sustainability as a key business lever, on par with marketing, finance, human resources and supply chain.

Since January we have started the “Sustainability Report” project, which plays a crucial role in corporate strategy.

One of the most innovative documents is the “dual materiality” study needed to understand what kind of impacts the world has in store for us and what impacts we generate as a company.

The Report identifies the challenges to be addressed and represents the voice of stakeholders, but more importantly because it communicates how the company addresses environmental, social, and governance issues.

Often, those concerned with sustainability focus only on decarbonization and the circular economy. In the Report, all aspects are considered, from the social and economic aspects of those we work with, whether employees or suppliers.

Sustainability is value creation: investing in sustainability means investing in the future and showing investors what future is being created. A project that creates value must be demonstrated by a balance sheet; otherwise, these are useful but not sustainable benefit activities.

That is why the Sustainability Report becomes a tool of MEHITS governance and allows us to monitor progress and commitment to improve our performance. It is the compass that guides us in an uncertain and changing future.
