Friday 24 May represents a milestone for the MEHITS Group: it is the day our Chinese joint venture CCU, Climaveneta Chat Union, inaugurated its first factory outside China, in Vietnam. This event reminds us of the inauguration of our factory in Shanghai almost twenty years ago (it was late July 2005!). Today we are celebrating a new success, the result of collaboration with our Chinese colleagues. I am confident that we will be able to replicate the same achievements in Vietnam.

The inauguration ceremony was lively and well attended, enriched by a spectacular ‘lion dancing‘ performance that added a touch of tradition and festivity.
The event was attended by over 150 people including customers, suppliers, representatives of Vietnamese institutions, the management team of CCU Shanghai, as well as MEHITS representatives and some Japanese colleagues from both the Mitsubishi sales branch in Vietnam and our parent company Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (MELCO). We were honoured by the presence of Konishi-san, General Manager Overseas Air Conditioning System Division, who gave the opening speech together with William Yim, our partner in the Chinese joint venture, Ando-san, Chief Executive Officer of MEHITS, and Enrico Padula, the Italian consul in Ho Chi Minh City.

Our stay in the Vietnamese capital was an opportunity to meet the Climaveneta Chat Union Vietnam (CCU VN) team, fresh from intensive training with CCU colleagues in Shanghai and ready for this new challenge. Richard Liu, former General Manager of CCU and one of the main architects of our success in China, was chosen to lead the company. As General Manager of CCU VN, Richard will use his vast 20 years of experience to accelerate the start-up of operations in a positive way.
The newly-opened 5,000 square metre CCU VN plant will immediately start with the production of air handling units and terminals, and a new line for HPAC units will be activated as early as July. In this way we will be able to strengthen our presence in the local market and expand further in the neighbouring countries of the south-east quadrant of the Asian continent.
2024 will be a year to remember for the MEHITS Group. In April we completed our first acquisition of AIRCALO, France’s leading manufacturer of terminals and air handling units. In November we are looking forward to the inauguration of our factory expansion in Bangalore, India, which will give us a production area of more than 15,000 square metres.
With these initiatives MEHITS is opening new doors, exploring new horizons and building a successful future within the MELCO group and consolidating its position as a global leader in the applied business.
