On Monday, April 8, the first Japanese cultural initiative promoted by the JapanLOVERs Team was held, and as a first choice we opted for sushi (which agrees with more or less everyone).
We met in the historic center of Treviso at the restaurant “TANALIBERATUTTI,” where COOKiamo Cooking School courses are held.
In this tasteful evening we had the pleasure of learning the art of sushi directly from the expert hands of Miki Hyura, a specialized Japanese chef who has lived in Italy for years.
In the first part of the evening, Miki taught us how to prepare nigiri, hosomaki, uramaki, and temaki, delving into the various steps of preparation, cleaning the fish, and giving us other professional tips. After that, we got to put what we learned into practice by organizing a three-team challenge. The competition was fierce, but in the end what triumphed was fun and togetherness. The winning team was awarded two bottles of wine, which they decided to share with the participants of the other two teams.
At the end of the evening we were rewarded by enjoying what we prepared together. Needless to say, but we say it anyway: every bite is tastier when prepared with one’s own hands and in company.
If you are interested in participating individually in other courses held by COOKiamo, below is their website and social pages, along with some souvenir photos from the evening.
