We interviewed Matteo Piatti, Facilities Operator at M21, who has been with us at MEHITS for 20 years.

- Was there an event or person that contributed to changing the way you work?
I would say that the best answer I can give to this question is attributable to two people, Stefano Previdi and Marco Archinti, who selected me at Kikai Maintenance as a facility operator. Since that change in role within the company, my method and way of working has definitely changed. I have taken part in various training courses in different sectors and learned a lot of information and working methods that were unknown to me until then, especially in the field of safety.
- What has been the most surprising technological change you have experienced in the company?
The most significant technological change in my specific facility management role is undoubtedly the transition from verbal communication or emails from my manager to a dedicated Excel program (maintenance FILE) in which the Team Leader, as well as employees and various company managers, can write requests for maintenance work or intervention needs, both preventive and corrective, entering the name, work area, problem/anomaly, and priority of execution of the fault or preventive intervention. This has helped us greatly in doing our job better and managing the various priorities much more efficiently.
- You’ve survived two decades in here, what’s your secret?
Every day I have tried and continue to try to make my contribution, always striving to learn something new. In over 20 years with Rc Group, then with the transition to DeLonghi and finally the acquisition by Mitsubishi Electric, I have experienced many changes, including uncertainty about my future, but I too have changed. From the young man in his early twenties that I was, I am now a 44-year-old man, and as the years go by, many things change. You mature and your outlook on life changes. For a twenty-year-old, work is often seen as an obstacle to their day, but when you become a little more mature, you see it as a commitment, yes, but also a duty that, at the same time, gives you peace of mind, the peace of mind of working for a solid company like Mitsubishi, which allows you to live much more serenely than many other companies today. Achieving certain important goals, such as buying my first home, getting married, and, as I write this, calmly awaiting the arrival of my daughter at Christmas, is also and above all thanks to the fact that I work for Mitsubishi Electric as a facility operator.
