Electrical Hazards and Prevention

On October 24, we experienced an intense and moving moment. Emanuele Scaffidi told us his story, about an accident at work that changed his life—and that of those close to him—in an instant.
While dismantling an electrical substation, which was supposed to be de-energized, something went wrong. Despite checks and verifications, 20,000 volts passed through him. An invisible error, a fatal oversight. Emanuele courageously shared what happened next: the pain, the rebirth, the questions.
“Why me?”
A question that remains unanswered, but which should be transformed into:
“How can we prevent this from happening again?”
His testimony reminded us that behind every procedure, every check, every verification, there are people. And lives. Accidents are never inevitable. They are the result of something that could — and should — have been done better.
Thank you, Emanuele, for opening our eyes. For reminding us that safety is not just a checklist, but a daily commitment. And that our work builds, every day, the world we live in.
